The Heimat Mechanics Hat is based on an original WW2 USN Wool Hat and is beyond peer. Along with their Deck Hat, the style is commonly referred to as a “Watch Cap” from when it was used by soldiers to protect them from wind and weather when they were on deck for their watch.
